While the environmental benefits of greenspace and tree canopy has long been noted, one of the many things that was realized during the COVID pandemic was just how important access to greenspace is for mental health and well being.
With our neighbourhood undergoing such change and tremendous population growth, ensuring access to greenspace for everyone has become an important priority.
When the reconfiguration of the Six Points Interchange was being planned, attention was paid to not only maintaining the existing greenspace, but also creating new greenspace.
A group of new parks is coming to the Six Points neighbourhood in Etobicoke Centre!
The new parks will include Etobicoke Centre Park (5,500 m2), Dunkip Park (2,210 m2), and an expansion of existing Six Points Park (1,600 m2). A fourth new park referred to as Linear Park (2,708 m2) will be converted into parkland in the future. These new parks are part of the City’s Parkland Strategy.
The names for each park are not final and are subject to change at a later date

In Spring 2023, MABELLEarts breaks ground on a vision over fourteen years in the making. An investment of over $1.3 million from the City of Toronto combined with over $700,000 from the Federal Government and gifts from committed partners brings them over two thirds of the way to our $3 million goal.

To meet the growing demand for electricity in west and central Toronto, Hydro One initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to rebuild a non-energized 115 kilovolt (kV) transmission line into an energized 230 kV line. This 6.5 km line is located on the east side of an existing hydro corridor that extends between the Richview and Manby Transformer Stations in Etobicoke
Reimagining the Corridor
As a key part of the Class EA, Hydro One is committed to working closely with the community to create a shared vision for how the hydro corridor could be used once the project has been completed.
Assuming the use will meet corridor safety and technical requirements, this is an exciting opportunity to significantly increase access to greenspace that had previously not been possible.
